How the Academy Works
Private, semi-private, and group lessons move through six progressive, age-appropriate levels, built around seven core areas: Around the Barn, Horse Care, Riding, Safety and Etiquette, Equipment, Behavior and Groundwork, and Experiences. Students spend time in the saddle, but they also learn to read a horse, care for one, and stay safe around one.
Riding instruction focuses on the Western disciplines. That means seat and leg cues, rein management, and working softly in tandem with the horse, with slow, purposeful work valued over rushing. Lessons may include patterns, obstacles, trail riding, bareback work, lunge-line work, and all gaits.
Complete every requirement in a level and you earn that level’s bandana, exclusive to this program, and not earnable any other way. It can’t be bought or earned by time alone, so each one marks real progress. Students start at age 5, there’s no upper age limit, and no experience is needed to begin.
